ASHLEE, 27 YEARS OLD | CAIRNS
You could say my experience with disability started from a young age. Having a younger sister with ASD gave me an insight that people who haven't experienced disability before wouldn't understand.
Growing up, I always loved being around people and helping others, seeing them happy and confident is the greatest reward. People aren’t always nice to someone who's different, but in my experience, those people have been the kindest souls I've come across.
You could say I'm a pretty happy, go-lucky sort of person, I try to be very optimistic and always make the best out of any situation. In my free time, I enjoy reading, writing, playing music, gaming, or just meeting up with friends, sometimes I just go hang out with my sister for dinner and a movie.
I've been working in disability for nearly 2 years now and I really love it. I love my clients, and my team, and the job itself is just fantastic. I wake up every day and am happy to go to work.

Originally from New Zealand, I have spent many years here in Australia providing wellness services and essential therapies to my wonderful clients.
I moved into disability support 3 years ago as I cared for a local quadriplegic counselor and realized my natural inclination for this type of work. I still continue to research holistic health, with a specific focus on nutrition, to ensure I can align myself with the principles of functional medicine.
I jumped at the chance to join the Tribe team as I’m keen to work with and help this fresh dynamic company grow and support more people in our community. When I’m not working, you will probably find me tending to my tropical garden or out on my mountain e-bike enjoying the beauty of our tropical region.
