Framing Abilities is an initiative by the Tribe Foundation, empowering individuals with disabilities and their families through professional portrait sessions that capture their unique stories of strength and resilience. We offer these sessions free of charge, while funds raised provide much-needed respite for caregivers. By celebrating abilities and supporting carers, we aim to make a lasting impact. Join us in transforming perspectives—one portrait at a time.
Our mission
At Framing Abilities, we empower individuals with disabilities and support their families by capturing their unique stories through professional portrait sessions that highlight their strength and resilience. Funds raised through our charity provide respite and restorative opportunities for caregivers, allowing them to rest and recharge. Our mission is to celebrate these individuals and support the dedicated carers who help them thrive.
What we do
At Framing Abilities, we are dedicated to supporting parents and caregivers by providing moments of respite for rejuvenation. Through donations to our portrait service, we fund small breaks and getaways tailored to offer our carers a well-deserved escape. These experiences enable caregivers to step away from their daily challenges, reenergizing and restoring their spirit.
Our Story
Founders Jaypee and Victoria are deeply passionate about creating lasting memories for the families we serve. As the owners of Tribe Disability Support and Tribe Aged Care, they lead a dedicated team focused on supporting individuals in our community.
For 18 years, they operated successful wedding and portrait photography studios in Cairns and the Central Coast, building small teams and capturing precious moments for thousands of couples and families. While this work brought them immense joy, they have now chosen to dedicate their time and expertise to this charity, volunteering their skills to photograph families and individuals with disabilities.
As parents of a special needs child, they understand the importance of cherishing memories. Together with other skilled volunteer photographers, they create a safe, understanding space, offering professional photography services at no cost to families.
We encourage our families to engage in community fundraising efforts, with all profits distributed through the Tribe Foundation to support respite services for parents and carers of individuals with disabilities.
